DigiCult is a Scottish-based company with a remit to source, develop and nurture UK film-making talent in shorts and feature films.

Our partners include Scottish Screen (Creative Scotland), UK Film Council, BBC Scotland and the South West Scotland Screen Commission.

Committed to the development of emerging talent in film, DigiCult has developed and produced two rounds of Scottish Digital Shorts since Autumn 2008.

DigiCult blogs cover a range of film related topics with contributions from our talent pool, collaborators, funders and supporters.

DigiCult’s talent pool of emerging filmmakers includes many Central Station members: Gregor Johnstone, Kate Burton, Stewart Comrie, Jessica Ashman and Anna Odell.

    • The filmmaker Daniel Warren was commissioned by The Work Room to make a film about the improvisational development of The Darktown Cakewalk: Celebrated from the House of FAME, April 2010. This extract from Daniel Warren's film shows the dancer Rosalind Masson as The Muse, wearing a Nasir Mazhar headress for the first time and articulating gestures found within depictions of the Muse within Greco-Roman mythology.

    Scottish Digital Shorts is Scotland’s key development initiative for new and emerging screenwriters and directors run by DigiCult Ltd.

    DigiCult will be presenting the call for submissions for Scottish Digital Shorts 2010 over the next few weeks throughout Scotland.
