Group Profile

Once a short film strand, DigiCult has recently been revamped, rebooted and relaunched as a new company with a remit to source, develop and nurture Scottish film talent across shorts, TV projects and features.

Committed to the development of new and emerging filmmaking talent, in 2008 DigiCult launched Scottish Digital Shorts 2009 – a project to identify a pool of writers and directors whose range of personal and professional experience can firmly classify them as the next generation of cinematic talent. The pool included a range of talent from recent graduates & new writers to BAFTA award winners and television directors.   The SDS 2009 short films are currently in post-production.

Scottish Digital Shorts 2009 is funded by Scottish Screen, UK Film Council, BBC Scotland and Highland & Island Enterprise and supported by RSAMD.

  • Scottish Digital Shorts 2010… DigiCult will very soon be opening the call for submissions to the Scottish Digital Shorts talent pool. We are looking for new and emerging filmmakers based in Scotland with stories to tell in either live action drama or animation.

We’re currently finalising plans for the year ahead and the new application form and guidelines will be available next week, Tuesday 10 November. A separate application will also be available for producers interested in working with the projects developed within the talent pool in 2010. All application documents will be downloadable from www.digicult.co.uk.

Once the application goes live you’ll have 5 weeks to get your act together before the deadline in December.

We'll give you a shout when our new website goes live...
