    • Maxi Mini Movie

    • Part research project part art experiment. Made in 2006. Animation of photography taken using plastic multi lensed/novelty cameras. (www.Lomography.com) A trip to Vienna to meet the staff of the company at their base and tour the office was recorded onto 35mm fim From my departure from and my arrival back to Glasgow I snapped and snapped at everything I saw and did. Over 400 negatices, some split int 8, 4 or 1 frame. Can't quite remember the entire frame count. Edited together using Photshop(7 on a G3 power PC) to seperate the frames and ored them, After Effects to animate and Final Cut Pro to add the cheap plastc musick. The latter 2 tasked where aided by the invaluable assistence of Once Were farmers.

    • Setting up for a live musickal performance at Host 09, Market Gallery.A Particularly Practical Particle. Time lapse to show the ridiculous amount of equipment that I used to make suck nonsensical sound scapel echo splatters. A loop pedel was used to loop up, live a whole load of live gear and a microphone was used to record random sounds from even randomer objects. It weren't pretty. Unfortunately this is the only documentation that I have of the event. Some photos are floating about int he etherweb. No recording was made, which on hindsight although pretty annoying, is probably a good thing.

    • Fog - Preview

    • Fog is an audio-visual installation that I recently made.  It draws its inspiration from the aphasia of Maurice Ravel and his inability in his final years to transcribe or perform his compositional ideas.   Through headphones, the listener hears the sketches of a composition, and on a video screen before them (embedded in a desk), sees those ideas being notated on paper.  As the video begins to play backwards (the notes gradually disappearing from the page), the music slowly loses its coherence.   The work is intended to explore consonance and dissonance between sound and image.    The full video can be viewed here:  http://www.youtube.com/Rossco242

    • Images of the art school, Ecole Superiore d'Art d'Aix en Provence. The school building is due to be demolished over the next few years. Sound recordings of the architectural spaces, conversation and traces of movment accompany this photography to help create an anthropological document of the structure and of the presence of the people who use the space.
