    • Wonder Stuff - back

    • All of these items are stuff that, by ordinary standards, should probably be in the bin. But I'm a hoarder and lover of design and for one reason or another I can't let these go. To justify their existence I often dig them out when I'm doing DIY or working in the garden. Most of these item also have a link to 'why I do what I do'.. whether they are connected to the music and films that inspired me or they may have been created by designers who inspired me. Many of these areas overlap.. eg PWEI and The Designers Republic, Jamie Hewlett and Gorillaz. Consequently, like many of you, I have a house full of 'stuff' that will eventually end up on my kids eBay account. But maybe, one day, they'll also appreciate a genuine vintage tee to ware out.. who knows...

    • Industrial Bubblegum - concept

    • FTW! This is a initial concept that I rattled up on the train to Edinburgh this morning. @eaonp idea for SuperFly artwork. I'm actually really taken with the idea that I'm looking into bubblegum suppliers... probably more likely that I'd go with bubblegum cards rather than transfers.. depends on the cost.. but either way you've got to love, love, love it!

    • Biodiversity postcard - Back

    • Bread and butter graphic design can quite often be very enjoyable. This postcard for example.. I never would have sat down and illustrated birds.. but this was a nice opportunity to do something different.. but also the illustrations needed to be correct in terms of proportion, colour.. no interpretation other than to simplify. Also an example of where illustration won over photography as, capturing these birds on film in there natural habitat creates all manner of problems with the colour and optical illusions with shape. Illustrations can be more specific.. or am I talking tosh..? As ever i'm open to feedback.. thanks!

    • gilaBot:001

    • gilaBots: a series of character designs.. I do loads of character doodles but very few stick and see the light of day. I like the simplicity of these and my sketchbooks are full of variations awaiting vectorisation.. I have a gilaBot taster tee available.. look out for it :)

  • Hi group. So is everyone here on the S46 programme? I'm one of the Aberdeen participants but I'm based in Moray. How's it going in the other areas? We had some extremely coconutty cake at our first session and a hot designer called Libby showed us some intimidatingly good work. I heard that they're dispensing with the pitching this year and going for a caged deathmatch royal rumble instead. Anyone want to talk alliances/truces? I have access to nunchuks.
